Afro-pop artiste, Wiyaala pulled a surprise on patrons of this year's edition of the Batakari Night as she mounted the stage and performed with an acoustic guitar and a single backing vocalist.
Referred to as the ‘Young Lioness of Africa’, Wiyaala who is always seen with her Djimba World Band delivering eclectic performances, dished out soothing music throughout her stay on stage.
She expressed utmost conviction that event organisers will accord her more respect following her ability to play a musical instrument.
"I can play any drum. I have decided to learn how to play a guitar and I play it the way I feel... With the kind of music I do, I want people to take me seriously. I love it and I will continue doing that. I want to kill two birds with half stone," an elated Wiyaala told GhanaWeb.
