Speaking to GhanaWeb, the counselor likened contract marriage to cohabitation saying, it only glorifies prostitution.
Emphasising that the purpose of marriage is to procreate, Counselor Lutterodt who doubles as an ordained man of God questioned what would be of the children begotten when the contract expires.
“It is a modified prostitution. From where we are coming from, the bible doesn’t allow that. It says someone must marry you before you begin to procreate. So my question is, if you are calling for contract marriage, will the children be contract children? Or we are going into contract marriage without making babies? Then stop and practice prostitution,” he noted.
According to him, it is shameful for any woman to agree to be married under a contract.
“Any woman who lives here in Ghana and wants to accept a man to marry in that manner, you are a disgrace… Marriage brings blessing, it brings unity, it brings companionship and it must last until death doeth you apart. So where is the contract from? So it can’t hold here in Ghana. And those of you who are ready to go for it, I want to encourage you that it is a sin, it is demonic, it is not biblical, so don’t try it," he stated.
