Court Remands Accused in protection

Accra, Jan.12, GNA -An Accra Circuit Court on Monday remanded into prison custody, Madam Faith Sharlyn Stubblefield, a Liberian, for stabbing Madam Elizabeth James, a Nigerian. Mad. Sharlyn, who pleaded not guilty for intentionally and unlawfully causing harm was to reappear on January 22 2004.

Narrating, the facts of the case, Chief Inspector Abavalin, told the court, presided over by Mrs Elizabeth Ankuma that, on Dec.24 2003, at about 7:30 pm the complainant, Mad. Elizabeth James arrived home when an argument ensued between her and the accused person over one Michael, an accomplice.


According to Chief Inspector Abavalin, this degenerated into a fight between the two after which they were separated.


Few minutes later, Elizabeth was in her room changing her dress, when Faith pounced on her and stabbed her several times. with a knife given to her by Michael, who is now on the run .

Mad. Elizabeth sustained deep cuts on the head and both arms, and was rushed to the Police Station where a medical form was issued to her to attend hospital for treatment.


The accused was later arrested and after investigation charged with the offence.
