Hip-Pop artiste and owner of 'Club Onyx' D Black has been named the ‘Personality of the Year’ at Jack Daniel’s NightLife Awards for his immeasurable role and impact in the hospitality industry.
Starr FM’s Giovanni Caleb, naming D Black as the winner of the award, referred to him as “a vampire by day,” and an artiste who refuses to sleep at night.
In his circles, the rapper is also called a “celebrated cash machine,” making it rather difficult to fathom how his naysayers think he is not good enough when he is clearly getting well paid.
His Black Avenue records has been the hub for good talents that have metamorphosed into great careers in the country and continue to grace our ears with good records over the years.
Known in private as Desmond Kwesi Blackmore, Dblack gave a brief message in receiving the accolade revealed there is nothing compared to the hard work that preceded his journey to the centre stage on Wednesday night.
The awards ceremony came off at Plot 7 Night Club July 25, 2018.
NightLife Awards event honoured personalities whose activities have impacted night life in the hospitality industry. Other celebrities in attendance were, Elikem Kumordzi, Kwame Fakye, Angel Town, KOD, Jupitar, Rhyme Sonny and Lord Paper.
