Hiplife artiste, Okyeame Kwame has revealed that Daasebre Gyamena saved his music career as the highlife artiste did not hesitate to feature on his song, ‘Kokoko’
Okyeame Kwame paying tribute to Daasebre Gyamena on Hitz FM’s Music Box, Friday said he decided to feature Daasebre on his song because the singer was the hottest musician in Ghana at the time.
“I have known him [Daasebre Gyamena] before both of us became popular. Mark Okraku used to manage Lord Kenya, Akyeame and Daasebre. I was actually in the studio when he was recording ‘Kokooko’.
Fast forward to 2003 when I returned from America, my career was dead amd Daasebre came to my rescue. I called him for a feature because at that time, he was the hottest musician in Ghana. When I got to the studio, he had been there for two hours waiting for me,” he told host, Andy Dosty.
Okyeame indicated that he will forever remember Daasebre Gyamena for his humility and writing skills.
