Renowned playwright James Ebo Whyte, popularly known as Uncle Ebo Whyte, has given a chilling account of how God saved him through prayers following a revelation that he had been “taken somewhere” by “some people”.
The revelation, according to him, was made by a man of God to a lady, whose name he gave as Esther, during a church service.
He said after Esther, in turn, told his wife, there were “strange” happenings in his life as the prophecy was about death before his birthday two years ago.
Uncle Ebo Whyte said on more than five occasions, different people at different times told his wife about dreams they had about his death.
“I had taken it seriously from Day One,” he said on TV3’s New Day on Tuesday, October 8 in an exclusive interview.
He revealed how a relative had a similar dream about his death on the same morning as that relative’s daughter also had such dream.
“So, I intensified my prayer,” he stressed.
For him, he said it was not a matter of looking for a man of God to pray for him.
“I believe that God hears us when we pray. I also believe that each of us is as close to God as anyone can be.”
He said he decided to do “something crazy” after surviving that scare and that is what inspired one of his stage plays, A Crazy Ride.
A Crazy Ride was part of the 10th anniversary of Roverman Productions last year.
It was a one-man show by Uncle Ebo Whyte and, with it,he wowed patrons by doing the unthinkable of him such as dancing and performing reggae music.
