Whilst Shatta Wale has publicly admitted that his relationship between his industry mate, Sarkodie has not been rosy in recent times, the Dancehall King says he would have accepted an invitation to perform at his (Sarkodie) Made in Tema concert held over the weekend.
Speaking on Starr FM a day after the concert which saw performances from almost all the big guns in the music industry, Shatta Wale stated that his absence from Sarkodie's "This is Tema Concert" was due to factors such as him not being invited and he had other plans.
“I wasn’t invited and I was shooting my videos,” he replied to a question from K.O.D on why he did not make it to the concert.
According to him, even though he didn’t extend an invitation to Sarkodie during his "Reign Concert" and Wonder Boy album launch, he would have honoured a call from Sarkodie to grace his event.
“If he had called me personally to tell me Shatta I couldn’t come to your show because you didn’t personally invite me and had gone ahead to invite me, I would have been there perfectly and you know we would’ve had a party,” he said.
Shatta Wale indicated that even though he is yet to settle out issues with Sarkodie he holds no hard feelings against him.
“I still want to do business with him. Because I'm still talking to promoters about him... I don’t mention artiste or A-list artistes and get his name out. I make sure I put him there for people to see I am business-minded,” he stressed.
Over the past months, Shatta Wale has made statements to denigrate the Sarkodie brand.
Sarkodie, on the other hand, responded with a track dubbed "Advice".
The back and forth on the issue has caused both parties to publically admit that all is not well between two.
