Elias Ewusi Essel, popularly known as Donzy in the music circles, has disclosed that he does not believe in prophecies especially when these prophecies concern his life.
In an interview with Doctar Cann on the ‘Showbiz Xtra’ show, he recalled how he was once agitated by prophecies about him which he had heard in the media.
Explaining why he does not patronize revelations by so-called men of God, he said: “I don’t believe in prophecies. This is because I don’t understand what I have done that God will reveal to someone and not directly to me. We are all God’s children. How then does he select some people to talk to and not talk to the rest of us?. What have we done?”
When quizzed by Doctar Cann if he reads the Bible, he said: “I used to read the Bible. But I have stopped for personal reasons”.
For years, many prophets in Ghana have publicly prophesied doom concerning some celebrities. While some took steps to undo the undesirable fate, others such as Shatta Wale did not take these prophecies kindly and have labelled these prophets as fake.
Donzy is currently promoting his new single dubbed ‘Odehyie’ which features Ghanaian act, Fameye.
