Wife of footballer Sulley Muntari, model Menaye Donkor has waded into the brouhaha surrounding the Miss Ghana Beauty pageant.
In a one-on-one interview with Joy News’ Mamavi, the famous model suggested that beauty pageant organizers should do more to look for sponsorship rather than put that burden on contestants.
According to her, it was wrong for organizers to put that responsibility on contestants as has reportedly been the case with the now controversial Miss Ghana Beauty Pageant.
Menaye Donkor meanwhile fell short of pointing accusing fingers at the organisers of Miss Ghana Beauty Pageant but insisted that it was only fair that both sides are heard before any concrete conclusions were drawn.
Miss Ghana has been in the news for all the wrong reasons in the last 12 months after some past winners including Stephanie Karikari (Miss Ghana 2010), Antoinette Delali Kemavor (Miss Ghana 2015) and Giuseppina Nana Akua Baafi (Miss Ghana 2013) came out to accuse the organisers of trying to pimp them to rich men for money and favours.
The organisers however denied the allegations and insisted that the winners were only asked to meet some men from the corporate world in a bid to secure sponsorship for the event and were in no way being pimped.
The issue has divided social media commentators with some suggesting that a thorough investigations be carried out into the activities of the Miss Ghana organisers while others are also of the view that the winners had a contractual agreement to help seek sponsorship for the event, and as such there was no wrongdoing if they had to meet some corporate people.
