It’s surprising and sad Abeiku Santana will question relevance of a streaming platform – Arnold Asamoah
Entertainment journalist Arnold Asamoah Baidoo has criticized Abeiku Santana's remarks on the relevance of a streaming platform in 2024.
Santana, during a meeting with former President John Mahama, supported a pay-per-view platform for creatives but dismissed the idea of a state-supported streaming service for musicians.
He argued that even populous Nigeria lacks such a platform and cited failed app initiatives by Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as cautionary examples.
Baidoo expressed shock, questioning how someone of Santana’s stature could undermine streaming platforms, which are vital to the creative industry.
He also challenged Santana’s claims of misinformation regarding the proposed platform.
