Ghanaian singer-songwriter and medical student KJ., based in Cuba, credits Highlife icon Kojo Antwi as a major influence in his music.
Initially introduced to music by his grandmother, KJ. later encountered Antwi’s songs through his mother, who, despite her Christian faith, often played Antwi's records.
While friends listened to popular Hiplife groups, KJ. grew up immersed in Kojo Antwi's music, which he explored deeply in high school.
KJ. admires Antwi's songwriting and vocal talent, considering him unparalleled in Ghana’s music scene.
Now in Cuba, KJ. produces music with a mission to inspire resilience and “heal the world” through his lyrics.
His latest track, Head Above Water, encourages perseverance amid life’s challenges.
