Mark Okraku Mantey & other media people sabotaged my brand - Mzbel

Popular Ghanaian hiplife musician Mzbel has revealed that some strong media personalities sabotaged her brand which did not enable her to win an award.

According to the “16 years” hitmaker, the President of the Creative Arts Council, Mark Okraku Mantey was one of her saboteurs.

Mzbel revealed that Mark Okraku Mantey and another guy in the media made sure she was taken away from every award scheme.

She added that she lost several endorsement deals just because Mark Okraku Mantey didn’t like her.

She added that when she released her hit single “16 years”, Mark Okraku Mantey and other panelists analyzed the song and made it look like a bad song.

“My sabotage started from way back which was started by two strong guys in the media because they didn’t like my brand. One of them works at Multimedia and they made sure that every award scheme, I was taken out. Anything that will glorify and benefit the Mzbel brand, they make sure that I am cut out.

I lost so many gigs and endorsement deals because they said I was controversial in a negative way. It was serious sabotage. When I did 16 years, I was 23 years and it was just a song. See this amazing song that went everywhere, it was huge in almost all the African countries but I didn’t win an award for it in Ghana, because these same people, Okraku Mantey is one of them.

They sat on the radio and analyzed the song to the point where it looked like a bad song. If I meet him today, I will walk away without saying anything because he didn’t want me to achieve anything but I have done a lot for myself” Mzbel disclosed.

The hiplife musician for some time now has been in the headlines over some comments she made about Kumawood actress, Nana Ama McBrown’s husband, Maxwell Mensah.

She disclosed that Maxwell proposed marriage to her but she refused because she has no intention of getting married.

She added that Maxwell Mensah is a very bad kisser and didn’t enjoy it when they shared a kiss.
