Popular Ghanaian actress, Nana Ama McBrown and radio icon, Jessica Opare Saforo on Sunday displayed exceptional football talent to save Ghana in a charity game between Ghana and Nigeria female celebrities.

The game which was put together by actress Juliet Ibrahim Foundation to raise funds for kidney patients was held at the Lizzy Sports Complex in Accra.

It ended 1:1 after about 60 minutes of entertaining football.

Ghana was the first to find the net in the first half of the game. Jessica dribbled past about four Nigerian players and gave a long pass to Yfm’s DJ Kess who clearly beat the Nigerian goalkeeper to register Ghana’s lead on the score board.

The Nigerian ladies fought back and made some dangerous incursions using the left wing where Juliet Ibrahim was positioned but they could not find the net. Juliet Ibrahim barely touched the ball whenever it comes her way to kick.

Nigerians were determined to equalize the score line in the first half but that didn’t happen. Not even a number of substitutions could save them.

Whenever Jessica or Nana Ama McBrown picked the ball there was always panic at the Nigerian defense while spectators cheer them up. Nigerian commentator even called McBrown Messi due to her delivery. Nigerian actress Belinda Effah also put up her best but it wasn’t enough to put the two teams on level during the first half.

The second half however came with more pressure on the Ghanaian defense. Musician Adina could not stand it as she was substituted. Adorable actress, Martha Ankomah also came in during the second half but she too could not last more than ten minutes in the game.

She gave up her place for Roseline Ngissah who when entering onto the pitch got everyone cheering her up.

A free kick by Nigerian goalkeeper who is a Ghanaian halted the game for some minutes after complains by her team mates that she deliberately didn’t score because she is a Ghanaian.

But that was resolved and the game continued. Nigeria’s Christy Aka in the last two minutes of the game found the net after long short that stretched the Ghanaian goalkeeper. Two minutes later the game came to a beautiful end.

Players exchanged pleasantries, sang, danced and posed for photos. Nigeria musician based in Ghana, Mr. Eazi also entertained guests with a short performance.

TooSweet Annan and Gbenro Ajibade were referees of the game while Bismark The Joke was part of the commentators.

The likes of Prince David Osei, Luckie Lawson and Pascaline Edwards, Halima Abubakar and Van Vicker among others attended the event.
