The long-standing Ghana-Japan relationship has recently flourished in the music sector, with Ghanaian musicians increasingly performing in Japan.
This growth is largely due to Opoku Oppong Kwabena, a prominent entrepreneur in Japan's entertainment and hospitality industries. Owner of R3 Club Lounge, R2 Supperclub, and R1tokyo restaurant, Kwabena has facilitated connections between Ghana’s creative industry and Japan.
His venues have hosted stars like Floyd Mayweather, Bruno Mars, and Rihanna. In Ghana, his Midas Touch record label discovered the late Ebony Reigns.
Known for his philanthropy, Kwabena collaborates with Genuine Smiles Africa Foundation to support the needy in Ghana and Africa.
