Award-winning lyrical rapper Osei Kwaku Vincent known in show-business as Strongman Burner has revealed that if not for his girlfriend (Nana Ama) who begged him not to drop serious information about actress Fella Makafui on his diss track to Medikal “Immortal”, he would have disgraced her merciless.
The artistes, Strongman and Medikal had brutally attacked each other in a battle of words which also, unfortunately, left the reputations of their significant others to public ridicule last month.
“Omo Ada” hitmaker Medikal first said some spiteful things about Strongman’s girlfriend Nana Ama but later took to Twitter, June 30 to express his regrets for dragging her name into the feud.
His rap contender, Strongman also took a swipe at Fella in his “diss song” Immortal when he alleged that old men at East Legon, a suburb of Accra “use fella for supper” and is easy to get.
“Transformer” hit singer speaking in an exclusive interview with Deloris Frimpong Manso, on the Delay show disclosed that if not for his girlfriend he would have made serious revelations about Fella which will cost her a lot.
“When I was going to record my second diss song, I was with Nana Ama she was the one who begged me to take a lot of the fillas I was going to drop of Fella, in fact people were calling to give me bunch of information about her car and a whole lot”, Strongman told Delay.
He said "if I wanted to hit hard on her it would have been bad but I am not in to reveal hidden fillas on her. It is not Journalism, it’s not a Delay show where you drop fillas, we are talking about who rap best and you were talking about your properties. If you wrote that 4 years ago you were the one investing in the industry, it wouldn’t be my fight but the rich people would have attacked but talking about rap, I also have the nerves to attack".
Despite the misunderstanding, Strongman vehemently believes that currently, he is the top rapper in Ghana and other rappers can debate about it.
The rivalry between the two rappers was unforeseen as little was known of it before the open display of bitterness, which birthed four diss songs.
It conquered social media trends and got Ghanaians divided on who won.
It was Medikal who first ‘drew blood’ when he claimed to have saved the music industry four years ago. Several artists felt targeted by the lyrics of ‘To Whom It May Concern’ but it was Strongman who stepped forward.
But the Ghanaian music industry has a rich history of rivalries over the years.
Key player like Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale came to a head at the 2019 VGMA.
Stonebwoy, pulled a gun on Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jr. (Shatta Wale) following a protracted beef which has recently been settled.
‘Beefs’ between Lord Kenya and Obrafour, Kwaw Kese and D-Black, M.anifest and Sarkodie have all once grabbed headlines in the Ghanaian history.
