Okyeame Kwame projects ‘kente’ at Earthshot Prize event in South Africa

Ghanaian musician and "Made in Ghana" ambassador, Okyeame Kwame, made a cultural statement at the 2024 Earthshot Prize ceremony in South Africa on November 6, 2024, by wearing resplendent Bonwire kente.

Sharing his experience on Facebook, he expressed gratitude to fans for encouraging him to represent Ghanaian culture, noting that his attire garnered significant attention, including a photo opportunity with Prince William of Wales.

The Earthshot Prize, inspired by John F. Kennedy's Moonshot project, recognizes innovative solutions to climate and environmental challenges.

This year’s event, hosted by Billy Porter and Bonang Matheba, highlighted global efforts to address pressing ecological issues.
