A section of social media users have vehemently reprimanded multiple award-winning dancehall act, Stonebwoy, known in real as Livingstone Etse Satekla for saying that being named ‘Charles’ was synonymous to being called a pig.

Yesterday, YEN.com.gh reported that Stonebwoy, in an interview with popular TV show host Berla Mundi, indicated that he would have been hurt if he was named ‘John’ or ‘Charles’ because of their relevance in our local dispensation.

When pushed by the show host to comment further on his claim, the ‘People Dey’ singer said ‘Charles’ was a popular nickname of pigs.

To this, the show host burst out into laughter even though Stonebwoy did not make particular reference to anyone.

However, a section of social media users who did not take lightly to Stonebwoy’s ‘pig joke’ took to Facebook to express their disappointment.

A section of people who were not happy about the comment called out Stonebwoy for ‘insulting’ more than just Shatta Wale because he was not the only one named ‘Charles’.

Others ‘blasted’ Stonebwoy for wading into such a controversy with Shatta Wale and dragging the issue to such an extent.

There has been some sort of renewed enmity between Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy in the past few weeks and they have been throwing jabs at each other as a result.

Shatta Wale is reported to have called Stonebwoy a cripple but defended his stance by saying that Stonebwoy also teased him for having a ‘big mouth’.

Prior to this, Stonebwoy claimed in an interview he granted to Joy News that he was lyrically and musically better than Shatta Wale.

To this, Shatta Wale has called out Stonebwoy to engage him in a one-on-one battle to finally decide who is lyrically and musically inclined.

Here are some of the comments from Facebook:
