Gospel musician Great Ampong, born Isaiah Kwadwo Ampong, dismissed comparisons between Ghana and the U.S. regarding returning former leaders to power.
Speaking to Amansan Krakye, he argued that Ghanaians wouldn’t re-elect ex-President John Mahama, unlike Americans voting for Donald Trump.
Ampong criticized Mahama for introducing "dumsor" (persistent power outages) and labeled his tenure corrupt and incompetent.
He highlighted differences, claiming Trump's presidency didn’t disrupt electricity and praised Ghana's current government for initiatives like free SHS and drone-delivered medicine.
Ampong asserted that bringing back Mahama would be a curse for Ghana.
