Ghanaian highlife musician Kofi Nti has resolved a copyright dispute with American filmmaker Tyler Perry, who used Kofi Nti's song "Odo Nwom" without permission in a behind-the-scenes video for his TV series Sistas.
In an interview with Onua TV, Kofi Nti explained that after his UK-based lawyer contacted Perry’s team, they reached a settlement, resulting in a substantial financial payment to Nti.
The case initially sparked discussions on social media about copyright violations, but Kofi Nti has confirmed the issue is now settled.
"Odo Nwom," featuring Ofori Amponsah, was released in 2004 and remains one of Nti's popular works.
