The Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin has dismissed claims that portrait of former President John Dramani Mahama has been hung in his office instead of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
He said the publication is false and intended to court disaffection for him.
A statement issued by his office said on Wednesday, September 8, that “The attention of the office of the speaker of parliament has been drawn to publication circulating on social media under the heading ‘Bagbin causes stir by hanging Mahama’s portrait in his office instead of Nana Addo.”
“We place on record that the publication is spurious, malicious and unsubstantiated.”
“For purposes of emphasis, at no point in time has the portrait of ex-President John Dramani Mahama been hung in the office of the Rt. Honourable Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin.
“The publication in question is a fabrication, obviously intended to court hatred and spite for the Rt Honourable and create public disaffection for him.
