Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, flagbearer of Ghana's New Patriotic Party (NPP), has challenged former President and National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama, to a live presidential debate.
This call follows the rejection of debate proposals by Mahama's campaign team.
Speaking in Bunkpurugu, Dr. Bawumia accused Mahama of avoiding the debate due to the "emptiness" of his policies and his inability to explain his 24-hour economic policy. Dr. Bawumia emphasized the importance of the debate for Ghanaians to evaluate both candidates' policies and visions.
While Mahama has engaged with the media recently, calls for a similar session from Dr. Bawumia have emerged.
