A National Youth Organiser aspirant of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Yaw Brogya Genfi, has hit hard on Vice president Mahamudu Bawumia, calling him a liar who has become a disgrace to Ghana.

His swipe follows the recent fuel hikes in the country that has sparked public outcry, especially on social media.

Ghanaians woke up to the increase on Tuesday, September 17, 2018. Diesel is going for GHc5.18 pesewas per litre, and petrol 5.14 per litre.

In an interview with Power 97.9 FM’s Piesie Okrah in Accra, the vociferous NDC communicator said the vice president has in the past months subjected himself and the entire Akufo-Addo led government to public ridicule following the government’s inability to grip the country’s economy and deliver on its promises to Ghanaians.

“Bawumia is a total disgrace to Ghana. His name is synonymous to disgrace. He said a lot about shaping the economy and what not, but what we see is total failure on his part,” the former Ashanti regional NDC Youth Organizer said.

Touching on the failures of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government, Brogya said in the round up to the 2016 elections, the NPP campaign team vituperated the erstwhile NDC government and campaigned on the back of hardship in the country, but have worsened the situation ever since their investiture in January 2017.

He mentioned hardships in the country, regular fuel hikes and “frequent depreciation” of the cedi as few among the lot that have exposed the NPP government as one that has not been be able to assuage the pains Ghanaians are going through as a result of economic instability in the country.

“During the campaign season in 2016, I used to fill the tank of my Mahindra pick-up truck with 150 cedis but today I fill the same tank with 350 cedis,” he revealed while condemning the NPP government.

According to him, the government has lied to Ghanaians after failing to fulfil the “sweet” promises they gave Ghanaians.

Brogya Genfi, therefore, called on Ghanaians to hold the government by its words and kick the NPP out of power in 2020.

He promised to showcase to Ghanaians the lies behind the governance of the NPP if voted as the National Youth Organiser of the NDC and help boot the NPP out of government in the 2020 Presidential polls.
