Deputy Finance Minister, Dr. Stephen Amoah, has indicated that NPP flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, will create a long-term framework to address the Cedi's depreciation against the US dollar if elected president.
Dr. Amoah, former MASLOC boss and MP for Nhyiaeso, emphasised the need for Dr. Bawumia's financial expertise to tackle the "ritual problem" of Cedi depreciation.
Trade unions and business leaders have expressed concerns over the currency's decline affecting business costs.
Dr. Amoah urged Ghanaians to elect Dr. Bawumia on December 7 to implement this long-term solution, while also addressing immediate stabilisation efforts.
