Executives and delegates of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Bodi Constituency, have thrown their support behind the candidature of Mr John Dramanai Mahama as the former president seeks to lead the party again to run for the 2020 elections.
Mr Mahama is competing with five other aspirants for the flag bearer slot of the party in the 26 January primary.
A statement signed by Mr Stephen Baidoo, the Bodi Constituency Secretary of the party, on Friday, 4 January, said: “The constituency executives and delegates from the 68 branches of the Bodi Constituency of the National Democratic Congress, after a deep reflection, have decided to throw our full support behind His Excellency John Dramani Mahama in the upcoming presidential primaries in January 2019.
“This decision is borne out of our firm belief that H.E. John Dramani Mahama holds, in every aspect, the potentials to lead our great party to win election 2020.”
It added: “We, therefore, by this release assure H.E. John Dramani Mahama of a hundred per cent votes, except for any rejected ballot, on January 26 2019.
“We also anxiously look forward to his visit to the constituency on the 6th of January 2019, not as a campaign tour but a New Year’s visit to interact with the general membership of our party and invite all to grace the occasion.”
