The National Organiser of the opposition National Democratic Congress [NDC] says his party’s Ashanti Regional Secretary who has caused the wrath of Okyeman with some ‘distasteful’ utterances must dance to his own tune.
Joshua Akamba believes Kwame Zu is old enough to have known what is ‘good and bad’ when communicating.
“Kwame Zu is above 18 years so if he has said something which isn’t the party’s position, he must be dealt with as an individual. And I know he has apologized,” he said.
Speaking in an interview with NEAT FM’s morning show, Joshua Akamba noted that the NDC has become an easy target for Akyems to attack with the least slip-up.
To him, the Akyems have been waiting with bated breath so they would proceed to make the NDC pay for any slightest mistake.
His comment comes after the Akyem Abuakwa Traditional Council called on the NDC to apologize to the throne after Kwame Zu made ‘abusive and provocative statements’ against the Akyem State and for that matter the Okyehene, Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin II.
Kwame Zu is reported to have said last Thursday that the people of Kyebi competed with animals until former President John Mahama provided water for its residents, despite the town being the hometown of President Nana Akufo-Addo.
His comment did not go down well with the Akyem Abuakwa Traditional Council that seems to perceive the comments as an insult to the Okyehene.
