The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) Bernard Antwi Boasiako has urged party members to boycott any intended meeting with the suspended 2nd Vice National Chairman of the party, Sammy Crabbe when he visits the region.
Mr Crabbe is expected to visit the Ashanti Region this week purportedly to campaign as he vies for the Chairmanship position of the party.
But a statement signed by the Regional Chairman, Bernard Antwi Boasiako said “You are therefore directed not to organize any constituency meetings whatsoever for him to address.
“Failure to comply with these directives shall result in disciplinary action and further sanctions.”
A year to the 2016 general elections, the National Executive Committee of the NPP suspended Mr Crabbe indefinitely together with then-General Secretary Kwabena Agyepong and then-Chairman Paul Afoko, for, among other things, making utterances that were injurious to the chances of the then-opposition party’s presidential candidate at the time, Nana Akufo-Addo.
Their suspension has not yet been reversed.
