The National Organizer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Joshua Hamidu Akamba has described President Akufo-Addo as an oppressor who intends to toy with Ghana’s hard-earned democracy.
Speaking on Kingdom FM’s Anopa Nkomo monitored by MyNewsGh.com, the outspoken politician alleged that the Electoral Commission is compiling the new voter’s register for Akufo Addo, therefore any attempt that would destroy Ghana’s democracy will be forcibly resisted.
According to him, a portion of the Ghana National Anthem says that , “And help us to resist oppressors’ rule” was written for President Akufo Addo.
“Are you not aware that the clusters of our National Anthem, wrote it with much vision?, he quizzed.
“They knew that in future there would be a President like Nana Akufo Addo, that is how come the portion of the National Anthem says that you must resist an oppressor and particular portion was meant for Akufo-Addo”, he said
He stressed that, the NDC is ever ready to “resist oppressor’s rule” as imbibed in the Ghana National Anthem adding that, “so we will trigger that one and see which way it will take”.
He further indicated that, “There are so many things to do to resist an oppressor. We can resist an oppressor without weapons but we will succeed through determination”, he said.
