I am confident of victory despite attacks - Goosie Tanoh

Despite threats of intimidation against members of his campaign team by some former government appointees and the NDC party bureaucracy, presidential nominee hopeful, Goosie Tanoh is sounding confident of emerging the winner of the presidential primaries election of the party.

The largest opposition party has set January 26th, 2019 to conduct an election to elect a presidential candidate for the 2020 presidential elections.

Goosie Tanoh who is currently touring the Ashanti region has visited several constituencies and interacted with voters, seeking their support in the elections.

Addressing delegates at Bekwai, Akrofuom, Obuasi East and West, New Edubiase, Asokwa, Fomena, Nhyiaeso, Tafo, Kwadaso, Adansi East and West among other constituencies, the international businessman said: “truly Goosie Tanoh is winning this primaries election”.

He, however, did not mention the margin with which he will win the “tight race” but remained hopeful delegates will cast their vote for him.

The former Chairman of the Forum for Sustainable Development (FSD), the body that put the NDC together in the first place, promised delegates he would bring a total change in the NDC, restore sanity in the party and ensure the party returns to its glory days of winning elections with landslide victory.

Mr. Tanoh was secretary to NDC's most successful election campaign to date in which the party won in the first round by more than 58% of valid votes cast.

He promised to embark on an economic revolution to create sustainable jobs for both neglected NDC party members and Ghanaian youth who struggles on daily basis looking for absent jobs.

He said delegates of the party wanted a strong and decisive candidate who could return the opposition party to government after its abysmal performance in the 2016 presidential polls.

He assured delegates that he would put in place policies that will financially empower the grass-roots executives of the party when he is elected as the flag bearer of the party.

He promised to offer vocational skills training for branch executives of the party so that with the knowledge acquired, they will be able to start a business of their own to generate income for themselves.

According to the renowned politician, empowering branch executives financially which he underlined as one of his priorities will help reduce issues relating to political corruption and financial misappropriation when the party is in government.

Mr. Tanoh promised to ensure that the agriculture sector was made much vibrant and attractive through a strong link with the industrial sector.

Introduction of modern farming technologies under his leadership he noted will help boost productivity and maximize agricultural earnings.

Mr. Goosie Tanoh called on all party supporters to rally behind him for presidential victory come year 2020.
