Former Member of Parliament for Nanton Constituency, Ibrahim Mohammed Murtala has rubbished what appears to be a wide perception in the political landscape that he is arrogant.

According to him, he is noted for speaking his mind and therefore some persons have misconstrued that to imply he is arrogant which is far from the reality.

On Tamale-based Radio Tamale MyNewsGh.com monitored, the former Deputy Minister for Trade and Industry indicated that he has never exhibited any violent traits nor has he shown any sign of gross disrespect towards someone to warrant the tag of arrogance.

“let me be honest with you, I have good human relation, I have never slap anybody before, have you ever heard somebody either in my office or any place complaining how I slap him/her, anybody who will judge me will judge me base on my political programs on radio, and television”. He stated.

He touted himself for doing well in politics and in his dealings with members of the various political divide saying “I provided jobs to the people, including members of the NPP Kandahar youth group, I even offered jobs to some NPP regional executives, I have demonstrated maturity”.

Ibrahim Mohammed Murtala who once contested the parliamentary primary in Tamale Central where he lost to the incumbent Inusah Fuseini has confirmed he will now move back to contest when the party opens nominations in the future.

The former Roads and Highways Minister MyNewsGh.com reported has officially announced that he will not be seeking reelection in 2020 with rumours suggesting he has fallen off with constituents.

Guess that could be the reason the outspoken Ibrahim Mohammed Murtala wants to try his chance with the hope that once he goes through the primaries, his victory is secured by virtue of the fact that the Tamale Central Constituency is a stronghold of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Confirming his intent on Tamale-based Diamond Fm, he said “I spoke with Hon. Haruna Iddrisu too. Even though he is not from Tamale Central. I spoke with Alhaji Hudu Yahaya. I spoke with Dr. Nashiru. I spoke with President Mahama. President Mahama didn’t say I should go he will ask some people to give me the response later. He told me categorically that it was a very good idea…”
