The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party has emphatically stated that anytime he sees and listens to former President Mahama, he hears the voice of a "dishonest politician" who speaks like a man envious of President Akufo-Addo.
Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako stated that in recent times, the former President had been meeting various organized groups and instead of telling them the truth, he goes about "lying to them about and narrating a gloomy picture which doesn't exist" under the leadership of President Akufo-Addo.
The Ashanti Regional Chairman who is also known as Chairman Wontumi noted that in a similar meeting with the leadership of the Federation of Muslim Councils, former President Mahama "lied to group by concocting stories to satisfy his dishonest interest in politics".
"Anytime I see John Mahama, I see a dishonest politician and anytime I listen to him, a hear the voice of a dishonest person", Chairman Wontumi said.
In a meeting with the leadership of the Federation of Muslim Councils, Mr. Mahama accused the Akufo Addo led government of misapplying the Zongo Development Fund.
According to him, the funds which are meant to alleviate the plight of the Zongo communities have been channeled into planning and visiting weddings, naming ceremonies and also the cooking of waakye.
“There are not enough infrastructure people are crowded, the roads are poor so these are the things we want to double up. We don’t want to come and put up a Zongo Development Fund for show and use it to make football pitches and teach our women how to cook waakye, no. The issues facing the Zongo community are bigger than that. We are not doing a romantic Zongo Development Fund and using the monies to attend outdoorings and funerals and sharing rice when it’s time for fasting,” Mr Mahama stated.
