The Deputy General Secretary of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) Koku Anyidoho has taken key members of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) to the cleaners, describing them as braggarts who ‘shamelessly’ announce to public items bought for certain individuals.
Mr. Anyidoho further lashed out at NPP members for not keeping mute whenever they donate to people, describing the Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin Central Kennedy Agyapong as a ‘braggart’ and the worst victim.
He claimed even if Mr. Agyapong gives Viagra, condom or boxer shorts, he will brag about it in the open.
He questioned if it is wrong for rich NDC men and individuals to willingly sponsor the poor and activities of the NDC.
According to him, fabulously rich NDC members also donate just like some rich men in NPP have been doing but do not make noise about.
‘Its interesting that in the NPP, you have a certain Kennedy Agyapong, who is able to brag and tell the whole world that he is a rich person and that he finances Akufo Addo, he buys pick -ups and outboard motors, motor cycles and bicycles, that one is fine, but we NDC members don’t have the people like him to sponsor our activities, are they saying God has not blessed us, they want to tell us that NDC members who are equally rich as Kennedy Agyapong cannot donate?, is what they are saying? its ridiculous and outrageous that in the NPP they have rich men and individuals who can own properties, but NDC cannot have rich men and individuals who can own properties is that not it?
‘If people like Kennedy Agyapong has money to own a TV and radio stations, what is wrong for NDC people to do it on the quite, he has been bragging around saying (I have bought you Viagra, condom, boxer shorts), we have people who also donate but don’t brag, ‘ he fumed.
The NPP during a press conference on Wednesday addressed by its Acting General Secretary John Boadu accused the first lady Lordina Mahama of wasting state resources by donating to selected NDC supporters.
But speaking on Abusua FM’s Abusua Nkommo hosted by Kwame Adinkrah, he described the claims as ridiculous and outrageous, explaining that activities of the first lady’s foundation are sponsored by some individuals within the party.
Turning the heat on Mr. John Boadu, Mr. Anyidoho described the former as a ‘small boy’ whom he will not waste his time on.
‘So John Boadu want to waste my time and ears, I won’t waste my time on John Boadu, he is a small boy, he is not fearsome, he doesn’t even know what he is talking about, am sure he wouldn’t even remember what he said yesterday,’ he claimed.
He accused the NPP of diverting public attention on NDC campaign.
