The Electoral Commission (EC) has asked media personnel who will be engaged in the coverage of the nationwide referendum to submit their names for Special or Early Voting to enable them discharge their duties during the referendum.
The deadline for the submission of names is Monday, 4 November 2019, a statement from the EC said.
Accordingly, the National Media Commission (NMC) has requested media houses whose staff want to be part of the Early Voting to submit their names together with the following details:
1. Name of voter
2. Voter ID No
3. Code of Polling Station in which voter registered
4. Occupation of the Voter
This shall be done through the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA), Ghana Independent Broadcasters Association (GIBA) and Private Newspapers and Publishers Association of Ghana (PRINPAG)
There will, however, be no Early Voting in the district level election.
The Special Voting exercise is scheduled for 10 December.
The 2019 referendum will decide the election of Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) or otherwise.
