The first Deputy National Youth Organizer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr. Edem Agbana is urging the Party’s youth to remain focused as the party prepares to win power in the December polls.
He made these comments while responding to some questions on the suspension of Mr. Allotey Jacobs and the recent attacks on the party by Alhaji PMC, a former National Treasurer of the party.
In his response to the questions in a Zoom Conference held with the GIMPA chapter of TEIN on Friday evening, Mr. Agbana likened a political party to a football club with 11 players on a pitch, he asserted that, it was better for the team to have 10 committed players who are united by purpose than to have 11 players with 1 player scoring own goals.
He urged the Youth of the party to see what he describes as ‘treachery’ from within as an inspiration to work harder. “Comrades, the NDC has gone through tougher times as a party, we experienced worst forms of treachery prior to the 2008 and 2012 elections, but with Unity of Purpose, Determination and Drive by the Youth, we won those difficult elections, we will win 2020 together. Be inspired by the treachery,” he said.
He called on TEIN to speak out more about the many challenges bedevilling the educational sector. He described President Akufo-Addo’s handling of the sector as based on knee-jerk reactions rather than on Visionary leadership.
The Zoom Conference has become an alternative to the regular meetings of TEIN because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
