Parliamentary candidate for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Bortianor-Ngleshie Amanfrom constituency, Alexander Ackuako, has asked politicians to stop peddling lies to get votes in the upcoming parliamentary election.
The candidate says it was about time Ghanaians start dealing ruthlessly with politicians who lie to get to power.
Such politicians, he opined don’t deserve to serve people.
Mr. Ackuako indicated when you lie your way into power, the harsh realities of life will expose you.
The ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) he said is facing a serious crisis because they lied to Ghanaians, promised heaven and earth and yet, they have failed to deliver on their promises.
The NDC candidate stressed the need for politicians to bring the confidence people have lost in our body politics by speaking the truth.
"The NPP has lied and continue to lie to Ghanaians. This has made it difficult for genuine politicians to be trusted. This is a major challenge for us as politicians and I believe any politician who loves Ghana will stop lying to Ghanaians.”
Commenting on the decision to compile a new register, he said the Electoral Commission is a mission to create chaos and a fertile ground for confusion.
The requirement needed for compiling a new register he explained is unattainable and a means to disenfranchise Ghanaian voters.
