Ashanti Gold has axed assistant head coach Yakubu Mambo following the team’s 6-1 defeat to WAFA in the Ghana Premier League last weekend.
The Miners visited the Sogakope Park last Sunday to honour a Match Week 12 fixture of the ongoing 2019/2020 domestic tip-fight campaign.
At the end of a pulsating encounter, WAFA cruised to a 6-1 win on the back of a dominated performance.
Information reaching footballghana.com now indicates that Coach Yakubu Mambo who was in the dugout for Ashgold on the matchday has been sacked.
The decision of the Miners come as a surprise especially after the gaffer had served them for the last decade.
It is now understood that Italian tactician Roberto Landi will be appointed as the head coach of the club in the next couple of days with Thomas Duah expected to act as his assistant.
