There was a red-card in Vitesse Arnhem's 2-2 draw at home to AZ Alkmaar. It looked like being the latest in a string of defeats for Vitesse after Dejan Stefanovic was sent off and they trailed 2-0. However in the 76th minute Vitesse pulled one back after Matthew Amoah netted a spot-shot and a second by Michael Jansen 5 minutes from the end claimed a point.
Eric Addo was solid in defence as Roda JC boosted their chances of a place in next season's UEFA Cup by moving up to fourth place in the Dutch first division after a 2-0 away win at Twente.
