Ghana midfielder Michael Essien could be on his way to the Chinese Super League in the summer transfer window, close source have revealed to Ghanasportsonline.com.
The 31-year-old has received several offers from Chinese Club who are willing to sign him from his current Club Panathinaikos.
Essien had a fruitless season with the Greek giants after spending most of his time on the sideline due to persistent injuries.
The former Chelsea star was able to make just 9 appearances last season in the Greek Super League.
Panathinaikos are reportedly considering offloading the player who remains the highest paid player at the Club.
The former AC Milan is likely to join countryman and close pal Asamoah Gyan in China.
