Club Brugge star Vadis Odidja-Ofoe has revealed that he could switch allegiances in the future in order to play for Ghana at international level. The holding midfielder has been in great form since returning to Belgium in January 2009, but has yet to make his first international appearance for Belgium's national side.
"I've already filled in an application for a Ghanaian passport. It's mainly for personal reasons that have nothing to do with football. However, I can't rule out that I will switch allegiances in the future. I could represent Ghana if the opportunity came up," said Odjidja-Ofoe to Extra Time.
"I watched Ghana play at the 2010 World Cup and was really impressed. I was supporting them and it was a real blow when the team was eliminated in the quarter-finals. My friends and I were already thinking about where to go to celebrate the win.
"The team has a number of amazing players. Michael Essien, Stephen Appiah and Kevin-Prince Boateng are all class acts."
The 21-year-old midfielder was born and raised in Belgium, but has a Ghanaian father and could therefore represent The Black Stars.
