Hearts of oak showed character and verve to claw back from two goals down to win 3-2 against Inter Allies at the Tema Park in the Ghana Premier League on Sunday.

The ELEVEN IS TO ONE side will be cursing themselves after throwing away a two-goal lead in the game.

In what was truly a boring first half with both sides creating little in terms of chances, it was only Inter Allies's Evans Mensah who looked interested in the game.

Hearts of Oak for the second game running left Samudeen Ibrahim on the bench with Eric Kumi and Mustapha Essuman starting in midfield.

The second half was a total contrast to the first one with goals coming in thick and fast in the second half.

Fredrick Boateng got the opener after some wonderful work from Evans Mensah on the left flank.

One soon became two with Gockol Ahortor pouncing on some school boy defending in the Hearts of Oak set up to make two from a wonderfully struck free kick.

But with pressure mounting on the Phobians Isaac Mensah responded and got a goal back for Coach Kenichi Yatsuhashi’s men on the 66th minute.

The goal brought the best out of the Phobias with Ibrahim Musah who had come in for Cosmos Dauda bringing the Phobians back into the game.

With all at 2-2 Ibrahim Musah gave the Phobians the lead for the first time in the game with barely five minutes to go.

The goal was all Hearts of Oak deserved after their response from going two goals down.

Inter Allies Coach Herbert Addo who was facing Hearts of Oak for the first time since leaving the club last summer could do little to influence the game.

The Tema-based club threw everything they had but that was too little too late with the Hearts of Oak going home with their second away win of the season and moving to 13 points on the league table.
