The 2024 Odwira Festival in Aburi has begun, led by Otoobuor Djan Kwasi II, who is focusing on road safety, environmental preservation, and sustainable development.
This year's festival highlights the fight against illegal mining and the need to protect natural resources.
Supporting local infrastructure, the Aburihene committed to fuel DRIP trucks to improve roads and prevent accidents. He also called for a portion of Aburi Gardens’ revenue to support community projects.
As elections near, he urged peaceful voting.
The week-long festival features traditional rites, a fitness walk, and a grand durbar celebrating Aburi’s heritage and the historic 1826 victory over the Ashanti.
