‘Back to school’ to help transform education and skill development – Ayorkor Botchwey

The minister was speaking at the launch of a project dubbed ‘Back to school’ campaign, under the theme “Foreign Policy mirrors domestic policy”.

The project, a collaboration between the ministry and some international partners is in fulfilment of the ministry’s foreign policy which includes maintaining friendly relations with all countries that desire cooperation on the basis of mutual respect.

The ‘Back to School’ campaign is an evidence of Ghana’s commitment to meet the UN Sustainable Development Goals, which calls for inclusive and quality education in order to help educate and empower students thereby strengthening our nation.

The aim of the Ministry is to help assist government schools in the country with quality education and life platforms that will enrich their lives as individuals.

According to Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey, “It, therefore, stands to reason that, our Government has resolve to ensure accessible, equitable, quality and life-changing education for every Ghanaian Child”.

She believes the initiative will help empower and enlighten the society and also help Ghana compete with the global world.

Five selected schools from the Greater Accra and Eastern Regions are already benefiting from the ‘Back to School’ campaign.

The beneficiary schools are Odorgonno Senior High School, Abeka Motorway School, St Justin Anglican School and Anyaa M.A. Basic School.
