Following reports about poor feeding in some Senior High Schools in the Birim South District of the Eastern Region, the District Chief Executive (DCE) for the area, Richmond Amponsah Agyabeng went undercover to find out the true situation.
The DCE who disguised himself as a beneficiary of government’s flagship programme, dressed like a student of Akim Swedru Senior High School and joined students in their weekly routine activities unknown to management.
“I have been receiving some reports that the quality of food given to students is poor. So I decided to verify that by turning myself into a student at the weekend. I swept the compound, went to the dining hall and engaged in a number of activities with my ‘colleagues’ but realized the reports I received are false”, he disclosed to mynewsgh.com.
According to him, this was the only means available to him to determine the veracity of the reports or otherwise disclosing that he was satisfied with the outcome following his interactions with students at their dormitories and dining hall.
“I visited the Achiase Senior High School in similar fashion and I can tell you that whatever people told me was not the reality”, he stressed.
He disclosed that his colleague ‘students’ had no idea he was actually not one of them but the political head of the district promising to keep an eye on the policy so that school heads will not sabotage the current government
