Kwabena Mintah-Akandoh, MP for Juaboso, has criticized Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s pledge to provide free dialysis starting December 1, 2024.
He called it a political gimmick, pointing out the lack of a clear plan, funding, and mention in the NPP’s 2024 manifesto.
Akandoh also questioned the promise’s feasibility, as there is no allocation in the 2024 National Health Insurance Fund.
He believes Bawumia’s pledge is a response to John Dramani Mahama’s commitment to fund dialysis and cancer treatments under the Mahama Cares program and urged Ghanaians to reject Bawumia’s government in the upcoming elections.
