The Electoral Commission (EC) of Ghana, through its Deputy Chairman in charge of Corporate Services, Dr. Bossman Asare, has committed to announcing the December 7 presidential election results within 72 hours.
Speaking on Joy News' PM Express, Dr. Asare emphasized the EC’s focus on accuracy, transparency, and credibility.
While results for some constituencies may be ready by midnight, the multi-step process involves constituency results being sent to regional capitals and then forwarded to the EC headquarters for declaration.
Reflecting on the 2020 elections, Dr. Asare noted the shift from a 24-hour goal to the current 72-hour timeline to ensure thoroughness.
He reassured Ghanaians of the EC’s readiness to manage logistical challenges and deliver credible results on time.
