Journalists, bloggers, influencers sharpen skills in fact-checking ahead on Dec polls

Ahead of Ghana's December 7 elections, Dubawa West Africa held a two-day fact-checking training in Accra for journalists, bloggers, and influencers.

The training aimed to equip media professionals with skills to verify and authenticate information to combat misinformation during the election period.

Participants learned about fact-checking methodologies, digital tools, blogging ethics, and legal risks. Roselena Ahiable of Dubawa emphasized the need for media professionals to critically analyze information and provide accurate news.

Dr. Aurelia Ayisi highlighted the role of digital technologies and content creators in shaping public opinion, urging collaboration to prioritize accuracy.

Affail Monney, former GJA president, stressed the importance of ethics and fairness in election coverage.
