Alan Kyerematen, leader of the Movement for Change, has criticized former President John Agyekum Kufuor’s endorsement of NPP flagbearer Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia for the 2024 elections.
Kufuor publicly urged Ghanaians to back Bawumia, citing his economic expertise and potential to improve the nation’s economy.
Kyerematen, however, argued that Kufuor’s involvement undermines his impartiality as a statesman and tarnishes his legacy.
Highlighting widespread criticism and insults directed at Kufuor following the endorsement, Kyerematen called the move a "dangerous" political misstep.
Having broken away from the NPP, Kyerematen positions himself as an alternative to Ghana’s dominant parties, intensifying tensions ahead of the December 2024 elections.
