NPP can never be successful without the blessing of Asantehene – NPP Communicator

The ruling New Patriotic Party’s [NPP]’s Deputy Communications Director, Kofi Ameyaw, has emphatically stated that the party cannot progress without the blessing of the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.

In an interview on Kasapa FM’s morning show, Kofi Ameyaw advised that one should not try to psycho analyze Otumfuo in any way, probably assuming how he should go about an issue.

According to him, he addressed the issue based on how he felt it should be, though some people wished he should have called on the President in a person than making it public.

“You can have a problem with his[Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II] association and all he does, but the truth of the matter is that the NPP as a political party can never be successful and will never be successful without the blessing and the spirit of the Ashanti kingdom”, he stressed.

BACKGROUND

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo according to reports in the media met the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II at the Manhyia Palace in a bid to plead with the fuming Monarch.

The visit by the President comes after some Executives of the ruling party were seen, in a photo gone viral, kneeling before the Ashanti King.

The revered King is reportedly angry over attempts by some individuals in government to pitch him against Akyems.
