Agriculture Minister and Rock City Hotel owner, Bryan Acheampong, has denied claims of preferential treatment in Rock City's bid to acquire a 60% stake in four SSNIT-owned hotels.
North Tongu MP, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, accused Rock City of paying only half the bid price upfront, spreading the rest over 24 months, and lacking a tax clearance and bank guarantee.
Acheampong refuted these claims on Citi FM, stating the process was transparent and fair, with no special considerations for Rock City. He clarified tax clearance issues and confirmed Rock City's bid withdrawal.
The hotels in question include La Palm Beach, Labadi Beach, Royal Ridge, and Elmina Beach.
