In a surprising turn, Karl Mark Arhin, an independent candidate in the Amenfi Central parliamentary race, has withdrawn to endorse the NDC’s Joana Gyan Cudjoe.
Arhin, whose name remains on the ballot, made the announcement during an NDC rally in Kyeikrom, urging supporters to vote for Gyan Cudjoe and John Mahama.
NDC Chairman Johnson Asiedu Nketiah explained that Arhin’s initial candidacy was a strategic move to protect the party’s chances in case of legal challenges to Gyan Cudjoe’s candidacy.
With the court ruling in her favor, Arhin’s withdrawal unites the party, strengthening its position in the constituency.
