John Dramani Mahama, the NDC's Presidential Candidate, has outlined his vision for the creative economy if elected in 2024, during a policy dialogue with creative arts stakeholders.
He emphasised the sector's job creation potential, promising initiatives such as budget allocations, cultural promotions, renovation of arts centers, streamlined copyright laws, and support for drama and theatre.
Key proposals include establishing a film village, renovating the National Theatre, creating a dedicated digital TV channel for arts, tax breaks for creatives, a fund for aging artists, and developing tourism sites.
He aims to provide opportunities for youth and boost the creative industry's economic impact.
